This Program covers NL residents who are 65 or older and receiving the federal Guaranteed Income Supplement and register for Old Age Security benefits.

Income Support Program
Covers 100% of the drug ingredient cost, up to a 10% mark-up where the ingredient costs exceed $30 and a maximum dispensing fee of $6.50. Remaining costs are the responsibility of the patient.
Seniors Drug Subsidy Program
This Program covers the ingredient costs for identified benefits only. Any remaining costs are paid by the individual as a co-pay.
Coverage of Ostomy Supplies
The Ostomy Subsidy Program provides some coverage of ostomy supplies for senior citizens. To qualify, you must by 65 or older, a resident of NL, and receiving OAS and GIS.

Benefit Limitations
Certain drugs have had their use restricted to particular age groups or indications and some drugs require Special Authorization. Special Authorization means that you must apply for coverage.
