Eligibility
Pharmacare is a drug benefit program for Manitobans whose income is seriously impacted by high prescription drug costs. Pharmacare coverage is determined by your total family income and the amount you pay for eligible prescriptions. Individuals are required to pay a portion of their prescription costs, based on annual family income.

Application
There are two options for enrollment in Pharmacare.

Option A allows the Canada Revenue Agency to supply Manitoba Health with your most recent tax return, which is used to set your deductible on April 1 each year; this means that 2005 tax returns will set the deductible for the 2007/2008 Pharmacare year.

Option B requires you to send in a Pharmacare Application and Consent Authorization with a copy of your most recent Notice of Assessment (e.g. 2005 Notice is used for 07/08 Pharmacare). You must do this every year by March 31 to be covered for the coming year.
